Dr. Chung-Liang Shih, the new Director General of the National Health Insurance Administration (NHIA), took oath of office on February 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m, witnessed by the Minister of the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) Dr. Jui-Yuan Hsueh.

 

Dr. Chung-Liang Shih, previous as the Vice Minister of the MOHW, had also served as a medical doctor and a policy maker in public health for a long time, including an emergency physician of the National Taiwan University Hospital, the Director-General of the Department of Planning of the MOHW, the Director-General of the Department of Medical Affairs of the MOHW, the Secretary General of the MOHW. 

 

Dr. Chung-Liang Shih had supervised the National Health Insurance when he was the Vice Minister. Based on his experienced backgrounds, he is highly expected to make advanced steps for the National Health Insurance in the near future.

 

Dr. Po-Chang Lee, the retired Director General of the NHIA, had comprehensively unlocked the NHI Card, campaigned the referral of the medical care, and advanced the NHI MediCloud system and the NHI APP during his incumbency.
